| Based on the signature, (Susan Boulet), this piece was created very early in Susan's career. Clearly experimental and very successful in her creative, mottled, approach to the ink created details of the birds.
Three owls perch restfully in a tree on a violet moonlit night. Susan often painted owls in her work, I believe, because of the deep symbolism associated with them in numerous cultures throughout history. As stated in "Owl Totem" above… In native cultures the owl represents wisdom, vision, insight and truth and are closely linked to the afterlife and the spirit world: a connection to departed souls. A sweet and charming early look into Susan’s love of animals and her artistic process.
This original work has been re-framed with an antiqued gilt custom wood frame. Archival triple-matted with a gold paper bottom mat, a suede middle mat and a linen top mat. Acid-free materials throughout and re-glazed with Museum conservation, Tru-Vue, UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Boulet bottom-left. Undated.
