| This compelling, large and elegant early piece depicts three women, each carrying one of the celestial bodies that light the day and night skies; the Sun, the stars and the Moon.
Each light source is repeated often and in great detail and color, throughout their flowing hair and elaborately ornamented garments. Planets and stars are scattered throughout the background, thoughtfully reminding us we are just a minute part of the universe. Susan has beautifully filled this richly colored piece with details created using her sgraffito technique and ink resists.
This original work has been re-framed with an antiqued gilt custom wood frame. Archival single-matted with a suede mat, accented by an antiqued gilt fillet. Acid-free materials throughout and re-glazed with Museum Conservation, Tru-Vue, UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon Boulet bottom-right. Dated Jan 75.
