This large and wonderfully detailed early work portrays two of Susans's much loved early subjects, family and her memories of Brazil in her youth. The imagery, though unique to Susan, is in some ways reminiscent of the work of Mark Chagall.

The detailing in Susanís beautiful portrayal of this new family, is created through the prolific use of sgraffito. Abundant, large trees are painted horizontally and follow the line of the central charactersí dress whose complex bodice and sleeves are lacy and multi-patterned. A quaint village, is represented in the upper right, and shows four women dancing as they return home. A vignette of a bearded forest character and his horse appears lower left. Fine detail and color throughout this warm and poignant story.

This original work has been re-framed with an antiqued silvered & gilt, custom wood frame. Archival double matted with a paper bottom mat and a suede top mat. Acid-free materials throughout and re-glazed with Conservation Clear, Tru-Vue, UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon Boulet bottom-right. Dated AUG 72.
