"Memories of Another Time -untitled"
Medium Date Framed Size Image Size
Oil Pastel/Ink 1977 20-1/2"H x 20-1/2"W 10-1/4" Diameter
A young man is adorned in a beautifully detailed headdress of peacock feathers. In ancient Greece, the peacock was the patron bird of the goddess Hera. According to myth, she placed “eyes” on its feathers, symbolizing all-seeing knowledge and the wisdom of the heavens. The richly colored feathers open to the gentle imagery of two moons, a dove and a young woman’s face within the bloom of a flower. Careful inspection further reveals vague imagery of other birds in the dark blues of the piece. Susan’s thoughts behind this imagery remain unknown, however her warm portrayal suggests a feeling of longing for and memories of another time and place.

This original work has been previously re-framed with an antiqued gilt wood frame, archival double-matted with a suede top mat, acid-free backerboard & materials and re-glazed with conservation clear UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon Boulet bottom center. Dated 1977.
